Day 115 - Thursday, Jan 1 2009

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I am so happy this year. I made my goals in September this year, which was to eat healthy and exercise. So far I have been successful and plan to keep at it for the rest of my life. Every month since then I have added goals as I see necessary in other aspects of my life. One of my goals for Jan 2009 is to sew 2 tree skirts. There is never time to do it in December and I have planned on doing this for years, so this year it is my Jan. goal. I am also SO VERY EXCITED to be getting a new sewing machine. That has really motivated me and I have several projects already planned. I have a few other goals like: practice the piano or guitar everyday. Silly me, I really wanted to learn how to play the guitar 2 years ago, so I bought myself one. I didn't do very well and decided now is a good time to work on learning how to play, and hone up on my piano playing skills, which have been sorely lacking for MANY, MANY years. I have this awesome piano and it needs to be used. I also need to be better at reading the conference Ensigns and that is another of my goals.

No formal exercise today. We didn't get to bed until 1:30am, so we slept in and it felt wonderful. I planned on exercising and have been in my exercise clothes all day long, but I got started putting all the Christmas away and cleaning the living room. It is always an all day task for me, as I wash all the walls, sweep & mop the floor and wax or oil it. I just give it a good once a year deep cleaning. Also, this year I really want to get rid of the 80's maroon colors and Eucalyptus swag and make the room look more modern with the antique's I have. It is hard when my sofa has lots of maroon in it. Anyway, I got rid of the swag and the maroon rug and put a cream afghan over the back of the sofa. All of that has helped some. I have a few other things in mind and that should help it look better until I can afford to do a total room makeover.

Breakfast:
Green smoothie
1 Slice wheat toast

Lunch:
Lettuce salad
Slice of watermelon

Dinner:
A repeat of last night minus the shrimp
