I woke up dis morning wif a code (cold). I have started all the natural remedies and hope by this evening it will be gone.
1. Take 2 Echinacea every hour for 3 hours - then 2 more tonight and for the next few days take 2, 3 times a day.
2. Take big swallows of "Anti Plaque Formula" (I buy mine at The Herb Shop here in Orem)
3. Drink lots of raspberry leaf tea. Today Dennis suggested I put lemon in it. An old remedy that his mother gave us for colds was lemon and onion boiled, then honey added. The lemon, honey, raspberry leaf tea tasted so good.
4. Drink plenty of fluids
5. Spray every surface that hands touch with Lysol.
I tried exercising and could only get to 40 crunches each side and front. I only ran for 15 minutes. After I got all cleaned up we went to Home Depot for a few things Dennis needed. When we got home I was wasted and plopped down on the couch for 4 hours of movie watching curled up in a nice warm blanket and a box of tissues by my side.
Breakfast:
Green smoothie
Pumpkin muffin (OH, SO GOOD!!!)
Todays green smoothie recipe
1 cup soy milk, 1/4 cup almonds, 1 cup frozen peaches, 1 slice frozen pineapple, 1 tsp almond extract, 4 TBSP ground flax seed, agave, 2 fresh oranges, 1 banana, crushed ice, 2 handfuls spinach. Makes 4-5 16 oz servings
Lunch: ate while watching movies
1 can of Kipper Snacks (Yummy!!!)
Wheat crackers
1 Orange
Mixed nuts
Fresh blackberries
Dinner:
Campbell's Chicken Soup
Wheat crackers
Dennis was so sweet to heat up some soup for us. I have to say that today was a test for me. In being sick I really wanted some comfort food and it didn't help that there were 3 Costco chocolate cakes sitting on my countertop for tomorrow's BYU Break the Fast. I hadn't realized before this that when I am sick I turn to "comfort" food. Maybe part of the reason is that "comfort" food is easy. No preparation involved other than opening the packaging, and when I am sick I don't want to have to do any food prep. I had to really concentrate on eating healthy. But I did not cave in and I ate healthy.
