Day 84 - Sunday, Nov 30

I missed a few days of blogging about my diet and didn't think anyone would even notice, but Alisha asked me today what has happened to keep me from blogging? It was nice to see that someone (at least one person) noticed that I missed a few days. I will not write about what I ate the last two days suffice it to say that I have been good and eaten as I should with one exception. On Friday, after a long morning of shopping, Amanda called and said they needed a ride home from Logan because their suburban broke down on the way there on Thanksgiving day. We had to find a truck with enough power to pull a heavy duty trailer with their suburban on it. We took two cars as they would not all fit in just one vehicle. By the time we got to Logan it was dinner time and I had not given it one thought to pack myself something to eat (healthy or unhealthy). Steve's mom had some frozen pizza that she cooked for us along with some leftovers from Thanksgiving, no turkey though. So I had a piece of the pizza, along with some other healthier items. It held me over until I got home and I had a big slice of Berry nut pie.

Saturday I got up early again as Amanda and I were starting our "Girls day out" with a massage at the massage school in Lindon. It was 2 for 1 (and you know how we like those deals). After a nice relaxing massage we came back to my house and did a foot detox. That was also nice a relaxing. My water was not nearly as dark and icky looking as Amanda's or as mine has looked in the past. I wonder if that is due to my healthier eating. I would like to think that it is. After the foot detox, she went home to take care of her children and feed the baby. I cleaned my house as it was desperately in need. Then we went shopping for the afternoon, first we hit JoAnn's as I wanted to get a few more of their deals. Then we met up with Alisha and her boys and went to the craft fair at the Spanish Fork fairgrounds and had a great time together. Then they all went home except for Clay who Dennis and I took out for dinner as I made a deal with him and he kept up his end so his reward was to go out to eat anywhere he wanted. He chose Chuck A Rama. I was really surprised at all the items on the salad bar I have never paid attention to before. I ate lots of new things like broccoli salad, crab salad, tomato salad, fruit, turkey, carrots and a little roast beef. It was so good and I haven't even been tempted by all the desserts at Chuck A Rama or anywhere this weekend. I knew that I had this yummy pie at home and I have eaten nearly the whole thing over these past 4 days.

GOOD NEWS!!!
I got on the scales yesterday and I have lost 6 pounds this month. It is not as good a weight loss as the past two months, but I am not concerned. I know the reason. The first two months I was eating much more whole raw summer foods. Foods that are light and low in calories. This past month the majority of those foods are no longer available and in their place is winter squash, pumpkin, etc and more cooked foods. Since I don't have the selection of fruit to choose from I have been eating "healthy desserts" but which have more calories. My goal is to steadily loose weight, but more importantly eat HEALTHY! So as long as I can stay on this healthy plan, especially during the holidays, I have been successful even if I only loose 1 or 2 pounds. Next summer the weight will come off more quickly. I have now lost a total of 41 pounds. I was beginning to wonder is anyone has even noticed, but today in church one of my friends came up to me and commented on how good I was looking. That felt good!

Breakfast:
Blueberries and granola in yogurt

Lunch:
Lettuce salad
Peanut butter and honey sandwich on bran bread
Watermelon

Dinner:
2 Chicken tacos
Dennis, Alisha and her boys ate Pork chops, pasta roni, Frogeye salad and pie. This was the first time I have had to cook my meal separate from what the rest of the family ate. I didn't enjoy it very much, the cooking 2 meals part. My dinner was very good.

Snack;
The last of the berry nut pie
