I am getting to the point where I don't like going out to eat. First the taste of the food does not seem worth the cost. I have been so blessed to be able to grow my own melons and they have been wonderful. The ones in the restaurant are always green and tasteless. I had a gift certificate to Brick Oven so I decided to try it. Pizza was one of my favorite foods before the "Healthy" eating lifestyle so I broke down and split one with Dennis. It was very, very good. I only ate two slices which for me was really good. I used to eat 1/2 a pizza by myself. Dennis could only eat 2 1/2 pieces and a small salad before he was full, but he also drank a whole glass of soda. I am now a firm believer that drinking with a meal really does affect our stomachs. I think that has been a huge factor to me hardly ever feeling hungry like I used to. My body is assimilating the food as it should (instead of being diluted with liquid), so I FEEL satisfied because my body is getting the nutrients it needs. So back to the cost of a restaurant meal vs the taste. $18.00 for 1 large pizza and 4.00 for a salad bar, which were on tiny plates and had a sign that said one time through please. I didn't have room to put a salad and fruit, so I cheated and so ate my salad and then went back for some fruit. $4.00 for a chintzy little plate of salad - Highway robbery! Sorry, now you can see how cheap I am. Now Dennis has leftover pizza to eat for a few days, but I don't even feel like eating anymore of it. The one convenience for a high priced meal is not having to actually plan, cook and clean up. I guess I need to remember that and take that into consideration next time.
