I gave in and weighed myself today. I stood on the scales and without looking down, gave myself a good pep talk that no matter what the scales said, I am not doing this to loose weight, although that is a nice side benefit. I am doing this to get healthy, lower my cholesterol and try to beat all those age related diseases like: diabetes, arthritis, macular degeneration, heart disease, etc. Then I allowed myself to look down and I couldn't believe it. I had lost 15 lbs. I realize that most of that was probably water retention but it made me very happy. I decided to weigh myself today because I like things to be easy to remember and the first of every month is easier to remember. I will give myself one hearty slap on the back and then get off my high horse and remember the main goals. I am reminding myself that not every month will be like this and I most likely won't ever see that much weight loss in a month again. If I loose an average of 5 pounds a month then I should reach my target weight in about a year.
Breakfast:
Green smoothie
Corn, bran, blueberry muffin
It is amazing how this meal keeps me sustained until lunch and I never feel hungry until then. According to the green smoothie girl, we really should only eat 3 60% raw meals a day. It is much better on our systems than to eat 5 or 6 small meals a day. She says our bodies need the rest inbetween meals to do its job effectively. I think much of the success of this eating program is from not drinking at meals. My food is digesting so much better than it ever has and my body is getting the nutrition is has been craving for so long.
Lunch:
Peanut butter and honey sandwich on sunflower wheat bread
Raw Carrots, cauliflower, bell pepper, and cucumbers

Dinner:
Turkey soup (with leftover turkey and gravy from earlier this week)
Potatoes, onion, celery, zucchini, banana squash, carrots, turkey and turkey gravy
8 grain crackers (from Costco - texture is light and airy like rice cakes) pretty tasty
Raw cucumber and tomato

Honeydew
