Tonight will be a test. I am going to our "Super Saturday" on Friday night and having dinner. It is Crock pot, so I am assuming that it will be soups. I am figuring they will have white dinner rolls and very likely no veggies, salad or fruit. So I am taking 1 small tomato, several Pottawatomie plums, and slice of wheat bread just in case. I think that the secret to success is being prepared. Now I just have to stay away from the dessert table. I will try to report how it went when I get back.
I was pleasantly surprised at the delicious array of different crock pot dishes they had. I chose the one with red beans because I haven't eaten beans much and I know I need to be eating more, plus I like stewed tomatoes. I also opted for the vegetables as they looked very appetizing. I was glad I had taken a slice of wheat bread from home because they did only have white rolls (which almost all large gatherings have - and I prefer wheat over white anyway, even when not eating healthy). I briefly glanced at the dessert table to know they had lots of chocolate dishes and something covered in coconut. That did it, I tore my eyes away quickly so not to be tempted because I love coconut (and chocolate). I was so full when I got done eating. They also had a pizza class that was very good. She made 3 different types of pizza. One typical, one Thai, one ranch, chicken, spinach, artichoke. Even though they were made with white flower I tasted one small bite of the latter two just to see how they tasted. I think they were very good. She gave us a recipe for wheat pizza crust and I am think I might at least try the Thai pizza on wheat crust. I think it would be the healthiest. The spinach artichoke would be healthy except for the cream cheese/mayonnaise sauce. Of course all that cheese is a dairy product and I'm am trying to stay away from dairy. I will have to check out the health food store and see wht they offer in other cheeses? Goat? Wonder how that would taste. It was such a pleasant evening, just visiting with sisters. I had a wonderful time and never even thought about dessert.

It was fun to see you last night but I'm sorry we didn't get to visit more. I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off - of course! It was a fun evening!
