I woke up to rain today (which is a good thing for we really need it). I decided to jump of the mini tramp (walk and jog in place is more like it). I do this for 25 minutes while watching a home improvement show. For the first 5 minutes I used 4 lb hand weights and did arm exercises while on the tramp. After jumping I tried to do 3 sets of crunches with the help of an old ab apparatus I have (it has been buried in the junk room with the rest of the junk until Thursday when I finally had a chance to clean it all up). They ended up being mini crunches as it hurt my ribs quite a bit to do full ones. I am not even talking sit ups, just crunches. But I want to get started on tightening up these really flabby abs (if that is even possible with years of neglect and abuse to my body). Now that the exercise room (formerly junk room) is cleaned up, I can even start use the elliptical machine from time to time. But I don't ever want to give up my walking with a dear friend as that is the most fun exercise and it makes the time go by so much quicker. By the way, I decided that since I had weighed myself I should also take my measurements. The last time I did this was last April and thank goodness I kept the record of it. According to todays measurements and last Aprils, I have lost 3 inches in my chest, waist, and hips, and smaller increments in my things and arms. It feels so good. My bra is too big now so I had to dig for a smaller one I use as a back up on wash days. There is nothing like the feeling of having a goal, working to accomplish it and seeing the benefits of it. Such a great feeling of satisfaction.
