Exercise: I tried some new ab exercises today that I found in a running magazine. They were hard. I am going to alternate them with the crunches and hopefully it will give my abs a better workout. Arm strengthening. I have a set of 5 lb hand weights I use. I do 3 sets of curls for my biceps (I started with 15 and am working up each week). 3 sets of tricep backward lift or over the back on the head and 3 sets of arm raises. I ran on the mini tramp for 30 minutes, mixing up the routine with high knee's, running fast and running moderately.
Breakfast:
Green smoothie
Carrot/squash/applesauce oatbran muffin
Lunch:
Lettuce salad
Guess?
Dinner:
Chicken & wild rice w/ carrots
Steamed broccoli
1/2 avocado
Handful of cherries
If you guessed that I had tortilla chips and Mango salsa for lunch you would be right. Amanda and I went shopping today (Wednesday shopping-salad making day). It is really nice to have someone who shares the desire to eat healthy and is working at it with her family. I don't feel so alone. We buy all the veggies and make up 2 very large salads to last for the week. It is so easy to just take some out and put in a bowl in the mornings, add nuts and fruit of my choice and my lunch is ready.
This way I am always prepared. I take it with me when I go to work, or on my days off, If I plan on leaving the house and am not sure if I will be home I take my little lunch with me, just in case. More often that not I have had to eat it away from home and have been so thankful to have it so I am not tempted to cheat because I was starving. I am now on 12 hour fast for the cholesterol test tomorrow. Wish me good luck!
