Today has been the worst day as far as bruised/cracked ribs go. I went walking this morning, but it hurt so much. It doesn't hurt so much to just walk, but it hurts terribly to breathe. I can't ever get a complete breath. At home or work, the pain is intense when I bend, stretch, reach, sit or stand up. (So not much stretching and definitely no crunches before or after walking. Today the right side of my chest (where the injury occurred) feels tight. I have always had a high threshold for pain, so I wonder what the pain would be like if I didn't. But life goes on and I am not about to sit around and die, so I keep going, just more slowly. Today was the first time we have been given cookies (homemade chocolate chip)since my diet started and I just brought them home, put them into two baggies and stuck them in the freezer to put into Dennis lunches. I am so proud of myself for not really craving them.
Walked 1.49 miles
8:39 first lap, 16:40 second lap, 24;41 Last lap
Breakfast:
Oatbran muffin
Green smoothie (pear, nectarines, plum, apples, apple juice, banana yogurt, and spinach) This made 4 glasses full. Two for Dennis and I and two to freeze. Of course he pours his out before the spinach is added.
Lunch:
Lettuce salad (romaine lettuce, spinach, tomato, carrots, broccoli, chopped turkey - ranch dressing)
2 Honeydew slices (I sure will miss the fresh fruit when it's gone)
Snack:
Nectarine
Plums

Dinner:
Bacon, tomato sandwich (with turkey bacon, not extremely bad tasting, just very chewy)
Raw Carrots
Sliced tomatoes
Tip: Brushing teeth right after meals helps tremendously. It takes the taste of the food out of my mouth so I don't feel like I need to eat something to get rid of the yucky after meal taste.
