Day 2

I didn't have a chance to post last night as we had company. I got to hold my new granddaughter. Much more fun than posting. Now that I get up at 5:00am I have to go to bed around 9:00pm. Now I know why I have put off exercising...I really dislike getting up THAT early. I am an early bird, but I prefer 6:30am. So yesterday went pretty okay, until about 5:30pm. I knew that I should eat about 6:00 but Dennis wanted to go check out some things at a few stores, so I wasn't able to fix dinner until 6:30, by they I was STARVING!!! I hated this diet, I wanted to eat anything I could grab quick. But I didn't. I fixed a nice dinner and felt much better after eating. Dennis so far hasn't complained to much, except that wheat noodles don't taste very good. But he was a good sport and ate some anyway. I did have a headache for the past two days, and it got worse last night, so I broke down and took two Tylenol. I felt much better this morning.
Breakfast:
Green Smoothie (Dennis made with frozen berries and banana, and spinach) He pours his out before adding the spinach
Oatbran muffin (delicious)
What are all the pills in the picture you may ask? I am not a druggie, I promise. They are
1 Multi vitamin, 1 B complex vitamin (helps with lowering cholesterol), 1 fish oil, 2 vitamin E, 2 garlic, 2 chewable vitamin C, 1 - 100 mg niacin (helps with lowering cholesterol), 2 cayenne (good for heart & blood), and 2 hawthorne berry capsule (also good for heart - got to keep that in good working condition, the high cholesterol thing you know). I take 1 b complex 3x a day. 1 niacin 2x a day and calcium and magnesium at lunch and dinner to help build strong bones

Lunch:
I was set to drink the rest of the smoothie I had made for lunch, but I couldn't get the lid off the dang jar, so I had everything else you see in the picture except the smoothie plus some honeydew I had taken for a snack if I got hungry enough to need it. It came in handy. And I did not get hungry until about 5:30 pm. I love the crunchiness of the nuts and cucumbers. (Seems like I said that yesterday - Did I?)

Dinner:
Whole wheat spaghetti noodles
coverd in home canned spaghetti sauce
Lettuce salad w/ lots of veggies

Snacks:
none today, haven't felt the need(except for the dinnertime ravenous hunger)

I haven't been drinking anything with my meals as I have learned that water, or whatever drink is taken, dilutes the enzymes in the stomach so food is not broken down to the level it needs to be digested properly to be assimilated into the body. I have been told that I have poor digestion and drinking during meals may be the problem, so I am going to give it a try. In case you wonder, I swallow my pills with a bit of food and other than the habit of drinking, I haven't felt neglected in drinking. I drink plenty of water inbetween meals, in the morning when I get up I always drink a lot of water and in the evening I drink a lot of water. I have learned over the years to really like water.

One of my 4 water jugs. It seems pretty silly, but I have 2 this size and 2 smaller, but fatter. I always keep 3 in the freezer half full of frozen water. I generally drink one of these and 1/2 of the smaller size (more in the hot summer months) each day and that way I always have a set of bottles freezing in the freezer for the next day. I like my water good and COLD!!! In the beginning my poor ice maker couldn't keep up with all the ice I would use in a day, so this method is much better for me (and my ice maker). On a side note: my grandkids think it is the neatest thing to drink out of grandmas water jug and they are always drinking my water. I don't care (unless they are sick) because I know that water is good for them, and most of the time kids don't want water.

Dennis had me start taking his GPS watch so he can help coach me in my exercise progress. So for the record, albeit a poor start, here are todays results:
We walked - 33.09 minutes.
Average Speed - 3.4 miles per hour
Crunches - 3 sets of 10 before we start
