Day 209 - Tuesday, April 7

Cellercised for 20 minutes.

Pre breakfast:
Ginger lemon blast
In a juicer, juice:
1 inch fresh ginger
2 lemons (peel the yellow part off)
3-4 sweet apples (peel skin if not organic and cut in quarters)
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1 1/2 - 2 cups purified water

For the first time drinker of this, it is strong, and burns the throat, but it made me feel so clean and energetic. I really hope this helps with the cough I have had since I got bronchitis about 8 weeks ago. It makes abut 4 cups and I drank all of it. It took me about 2 hours to do so, and then I wasn't hungry for breakfast.

Lunch:
Taco salad minus red beans
Nectarine

Snack:
1/2 orange
Mixed nuts

Dinner:
Lettuce salad
Potato salad
2 slices sunflower seed/wheat bread
1 cup "diet" V8 splash

Snack:
1/2 orange

We ate dinner at mom and dad Archuleta's. They all had barbecued steaks, can corn, white rolls, and Pepsi. I brought a salad from home (just in case) and bought the bread in Price. Amanda picked up the juice at Wal-Mart while I sat in the car with 3 sick kids. She bought the diet V8 splash because it had less sugar than the regular, she forgot to read the whole label in which at the bottom was sucralose. We didn't realized it until after dinner she then read the entire label. No wonder it tasted so sweet.

I bought a "neti pot" yesterday and tried it out this morning. For those that don't know what it is, it looks kind of like a "magic genie lamp" (for lack of another way to describe it). You mix 8 oz of warm water with 1/4 tsp sea (or neti) salt until dissolved and pour it into the neti pot. Then put the spout up to one nostril until snug, tip your head to the side and slightly forward, open your mouth and pour the water. It goes through that nostril and out the other. It is a strange feeling at first, but as long as your mouth stays open it does not go down the throat. It is supposed to be very healing. Check it out here. I bought mine at a local health food store for less than 15.oo. The instructions says this is an excellent way to ward off colds. You should use it every day, but especially if you feel a cold coming on, immediately use the neti pot and get those icky germs out. Supposedly we have lots of germs, toxins, etc that get trapped in the hair in our nose. Who knew there was so many "weird" things that could be taken or done to our bodies. Have you ever heard of "cupping". That is another "weird" one, but I may check into sometime in the future.

Here is an article I read on soaking almonds. I soaked my first batch yesterday, and they taste so, so , so good, I had some on my dinner salad and it was a very nice addition.
