Yesterday was Dennis' birthday! Amanda and Malinda made him the cutest birthday cake. It was two round cakes separated by a "pretzel" bridge, with pine trees (frosting on pretzels), "Swedish" fish in a lake and stream, an Indian, and forest animals. It was darling. I wasn't even tempted to eat it, nor the ice cream I had gotten to go with the cake. I was prepared with healthier treats. I bought "Organic Rice Divine" ice cream on Wednesday at the health food store (bonus points for it being on sale) and yesterday morning I made "flourless brownies". Brownies - OK, ice cream - DIVINE!!! and all quilt free.
BONUS of the week:
Alisha told me that last Sunday when Dennis and I walked into the Peterson's church (for the baby blessing of Carrie and Kevin's baby) Randy's uncle Michael saw us walk in and thought that Dennis must have divorced me and found a hot cute chick. He didn't recognize me until we walked past them to sit on the bench and I said Hi to him. That comment really made my day.
I wish I could share this feeling with everyone who struggles with their weight. Let them know that IT IS WORTH IT, to swap out those foods/drinks they think they can't live without for things that bring health and vitality to their lives.
P.S. I am having so much fun teaching the exercises classes. The class members are enjoying it and I love watching them enjoy it.
