Spring? Felt more like winter!

Yesterday must have been a freak of nature. Most of last week and all weekend it was cold, rainy, snowy and not fun weather for May. Yesterday is was a nice spring day, and I didn't get the chance to get out in it. Today although was another story. It started out bitterly cold, and I went to watch Clay (my grandson) run in the Hershey track meet.

Now I know that I am an oddity, but I was probably the only one there who was wearing a beanie to keep my ears warm. Heck, there were even kids wearing t-shirts and shorts (although they WERE participating in the meet).

Ever since I lost 85 pounds I have been SO SO SO SO COLD. It is a brand new experience for me, so I don't care if I look like a dork, I am going to dress for warmth. Eventually the sun did come out and it looked nice and warm, but it was still pretty dang cold, and very windy.

Day 2 of the exercise went awesome. I am sore though. Not sure if it is because of the moves I was finally able to start doing yesterday (due to my cracked ribs are nearly healed) or that I started jogging yesterday in preparation for the Nestle 5k. Either way, I have sore muscles. But I like it. It makes me feel like I am actually working out. Sometimes I have so much fun on the Cellerciser, it doesn't feel like exercise. Should exercise be so much FUN? Heck Ya!!!

Since I have been delegated to be the baby sitter for Amanda and Steve when they run (OK, I'll admit, I love it), I decided that I would push them in the "triple" jogger and run/walk the Nestle 5k. So, yesterday seemed like the perfect kind of day to start training. It has been a year since I pushed that monstrous thing and I am so out of shape for it. It may get the best of me, but I am determined to do it. It makes my family, especially my honey happy to see me finally join them in "their" realm. Like the saying goes: "When in Rome....Do as the Romans do" or something like that.
