I just got back from spending 2 nights in Salt Lake with Dennis. He had a 2 day seminar to attend. I am finding that I do pretty well eating out on my weird self made diet.
Wednesday evening dinner:
Chuck A Rama (Dennis' choice)
Lettuce salad- large plate full
Carrot salad (very small serving, just enough to taste)
Cucumbers in oil & vinegar
Wheat roll (whole wheat?-I doubt it)
Mashed potatoes and gravy (small serving)
One bite of cooked carrots, cooked corn and cooked little mini cabbages(I forget their real name)
1 piece cooked squash
Fresh fruit
I was craving rice and beans, but for the most part enjoyed the above menu
Thursday breakfast:
Green smoothie (from home carried in a cooler)
Wheat roll (hidden in my purse from Chuck A Rama last night)
Lunch:
Leftover beans & Quinoa (had to drive home to do some computer work)
Watermelon
Dinner:
Veggie burrito from Barbacoa's in downtown SLC (not very good - I would not recommend this place)
Friday breakfast:
Blueberries and granola in yogurt (also carried in the cooler. I was wishing I had another green smoothie)
Lunch:
Slice whole wheat bread
Too much watermelon (but it was sooo yummy)
Dinner:
Hawaiian Luau at Grandma Christensen's Care center
Pasta salad (white noodles-yuck)
Potato salad
Fresh broccoli, sugar peas, carrots, mini peppers
Fresh grapes & pineapple
Snack:
1/2 bag microwave popcorn
1 cup cinnamon tea
Bunch of red grapes
I have found that I can almost always find something on a menu that I can eat, but many times I HAVE no choice but to eat white flour. There seems to be a few more restaurants that carry wheat breads or pasta (although not whole wheat). I still prefer to eat at home although I still don't like cooking. Can I just say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Green Smoothies. And after all this time-11 months now, I don't have lettuce salads. Sometimes I am not in the mood or one, so I eat raw veggies instead, but I try to eat at least one salad daily. I believe that has been part of the key to my success in getting healthy and loosing weight - fresh, whole, foods.
