Green, my new favorite color

If anyone would have told me two years ago that I would crave raw leafy greens, I would have thought they were crazy. Probably anyone reading this will think I am crazy when I tell them that I CRAVE RAW FOOD - ESPECIALLY LEAFY GREENS. Okay, go ahead and call me crazy, it doesn't hurt my feelings, because I know that for the first time in my life I feel good, I mean REALLY GOODDDD!!!!! How many of you can say that? I usually start my day out with spinach and some other type of green leafy veggie that I alternate weekly in my green smoothie. Then I have a green salad (romaine & spinach)for one of my meals, usually lunch. If I miss one of these during the day, I really notice the difference and my body actually CRAVES it. There are so many variations to this salad that I don't get tired of it. I even now make my own homemade dressings which are WONDERFUL!

This past week I have been reading how good wheat grass is for us. I have watched YouTube videos on how to grow it, juice it and on the benefits of drinking it. This is my new THING to try. I will keep you posted.

If there was a fountain of youth, I believe it would be Natural, Raw, and Green. Like, say spinach, chard, kale, collards, lettuce (no, iceburg doesn't count), wheat grass, etc.

This is what I try to eat/drink every day (it makes me feel the very best):
1 glass freshly squeezed carrot juice with 1/4 fresh lemon and 1 inch fresh ginger

Breakfast:
green smoothie
homemade bran muffin

I rarely need a snack before lunch

Lunch:
large lettuce salad (I mix it up, sometimes Mexican, garden, Asian, etc)
Tortilla chips w/ homemade guacamole or whole grain toast or flax seed crackers
1 piece fresh fruit

Afternoon snack:
fruit or granola bar or berries in yogurt w/granola

Dinner:
Steamed veggie
Can't wait for summer to have fresh tomatoes and cucumbers
wheat pasta w/ spaghetti sauce, rice & bean tacos, sweet potato, veggie burger, homemade soup, quinoa cabbage wraps, stir fry, whole wheat-oatmeal-bran pancakes w/ sliced bananas on top and Agave drizzled over it all.

Evening snack:
I try not to eat after 7:00, but if I do, I try to eat fresh fruit and nuts. I really love popcorn, but since I no longer eat butter, I haven't yet found a good healthy substitute.
